Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property rights and Patent Management is 100% job oriented course. The 9 Month program is designed for participants with BE/BTech, MSc, MTech, PhD qualification. The 3-trimester program includes 300 hours of class room lectures and 180 hours of practical and mentoring sessions by Patent Agents, Industry Experts and IP Attorneys from US, Europe and India. The last trimester (Jan - March 2011) is for paid Corporate Internship, which is organized by GIIP, for all participants.
The Program is recommended for Graduates/Post-graduates/PhDs with science, engineering and other technical qualifications, Domain Experts, Research Scholars, Teachers and Professors, Legal Professionals (LL.B. & LL.M.) with technical background. India is now becoming a pioneer in outsourcing services and a knowledge economy. IP is a new interest for Indian inventors and growing Industries. To maintain its growth and to keep pace with the global competition, there is definite requirement to innovate, protect and build commercial and business strategy tools.
India has one of the largest numbers of talent pool of technology, science and engineers graduates from around the world. It has some of the most renowned technology institutes such as IIT’s and REC’s. But surprisingly, not a single institution or training program exists that offers IP and the entire gamut of patent portfolio management as a full-fledged “career option” for science graduates.
